Sorriso

Mestre Sorriso was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, which is considered the birthplace of capoeira. He began training in the art form at a young age and quickly became skilled in both the Angola and Regional styles of capoeira.

In addition to his work promoting gender equality, Mestre Sorriso is also involved in community outreach programs that use capoeira to empower young people and promote social change. He has worked with at-risk youth in Brazil and other countries, using capoeira as a tool to build confidence, discipline, and leadership skills.

Mestre Sorriso has also collaborated with other artists and musicians to create innovative performances that blend capoeira with other forms of dance and music. He has worked with renowned choreographer Alvin Ailey and has performed with the Afro-Brazilian dance company Bale Folclorico da Bahia.

Mestre Sorriso has also trained and worked with other capoeira groups, including Capoeira Angola Palmares and Capoeira Brasil. His expertise in capoeira has made him a sought-after instructor and performer around the world.
